2011: The Year of the Blog

Josh asked me this morning: “What are you doing?”

Me: “Reading a blog.”

Josh: “You love blogs.
What does that even stand for – blog? Butt-log? (in a never-ending quest to
relate everything to bathroom humour, he seemed proud of this particular link)
          Poop! You are reading poop!
Well, I have to go to work. Enjoy reading your butt-logs.”

This is the man I married. I love him. :)
(For those who don't know and are now curious, a 'blog', according to Wikipedia, is a blend of the term 'web log', and not, in fact, 'butt-log'.)

Everybody's doing it, so I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon, too. I wanna be cool.
Amongst other reasons, blogging is a good way of networking and sharing ideas, or so I've discovered in the last month or so. I also think its a good idea to keep a 'journal' of sorts of all the little things in life that happen on a daily/ weekly basis, especially since Laura will be doing so many new and exciting things this year. I will consider this a place to keep a record of all that. My philosophy on these kinds of thing is, "I can always throw it away/ delete it/ get rid of it if I don't want it in 20 years, but I can never have those things/ memories back if I don't create/ record them now." (This philosophy all started about a year ago with my belly cast. I wasn't sure I would want a giant plaster-of-Paris cast of my pregnant figure kicking around our small house without a home, but, I figured I could always get rid of it eventually. And I actually did want to remember my pregnant shape, so I made it. And it actually did find a home, hanging on our otherwise empty bedroom walls. Waiting to be joined. ;)) But I digress (be prepared for a lot of that. I have been called the 'queen of tangents'.)

So yes, this is the start of my online journal and otherwise networking tool and idea-finder-and-recorder.
