Happy 3rd Birthday to Rache!

Today is Mother's Day, and three years ago today, I was bringing home my second little bundle of joy! Happy birthday to our little Bee! We love you so much, and love that you are our funny little goofball. You are just the sweetest.

Rachel was very excited when she woke up this morning to finally be able to tell everyone she is "this old!" -->

We got all dressed up and went out for brunch at the mountain. Rache picked out a mini cupcake from the dessert table, and while she was in the bathroom, I had our waitress bring her a candle for it.

When we got home, the girls played outside with their new bubbles, and Rachel practiced diligently to not blow too hard and pop them before they were released from the wand. When she finally figured out the right air pressure, she erupted in fits of giggles after every success.

Rachel got some time to wrestle with Daddy and Laura, during which she was dubbed 'The Rhinoceros' for her head butting moves (loved it). And Grandma came over for dinner and brought souvenirs from her cruise in the Mediterranean. I think she had a pretty great day, and we're all looking forward to her party next weekend, it's gonna be a good one!

Dinner H

Tonight was our Hh dinner. It has been quite warm this week, and I tend to not be very hungry when it's hot, so I couldn't even finish my dinner! Laura gobbled it all up, though!

To Be Two

Next week my baby turns three. Which means she won't really be a baby anymore. :(
She's a busy little girl now and will not be confined by walls; she always wants to play and go outside. So it was no surprise she wanted to go for a walk on a beautiful sunny day like today. I just had to marvel at her beautiful young spirit: squealing in excitement to see the first dandelions of the season, squawking in excitement as the ducks flew low over the lake, happy as a clam just to wade in the freezing cold lake and dip her sundress, running up and down the hills over and over again. Wouldn't it be nice if such simple joys still brought us so much pleasure? They did for me today. <3

The Wizard of Oz

We can finally all breathe again! This past week has been a whirlwind of rehearsals and productions and very little sleep! But the show turned out great and Laura love love loved being in it, as I knew she would. And now, it feels like she is somehow more grown up. She is so much more confident in herself, and she has really been able to branch out socially with all of the older kids in the play. She has hung out with the other little kids, right up to the tweenagers, and made friends with all of them. It has been such a great experience for her, and I'm so glad she was afforded this opportunity.

Thanks to everyone who came out to watch and support her! She was so pleased to have fans in the audience for each performance. We will definitely be interested in more theatre in the future, but for now are looking forward to a break before getting back to our regularly scheduled programming!
